CETA offers cross phase CPD and leadership training which is collaboratively planned and delivered by partner schools. Through this model our CPD is developed by teachers for teachers.
Cotswold Edge Teaching Alliance (CETA) members have a shared vision to work together to provide excellent provision and outcomes for all students in their schools and to support other schools to do the same. We will achieve this by pursuing excellence in teaching, learning and leadership through training, support, research and development created and delivered by schools for schools. Working in partnership across the primary and secondary sector is central to our ethos.
In 2014 Marling School was awarded Teaching School status, a designation entitling us to take a lead role in school-centred training and professional development of staff. We are at the centre of an alliance of schools, working with other partners including four primary schools (Bussage Primary School, Rodborough Primary School, Uplands Primary School and Powell’s Primary School) and 5 secondary schools (Marling School, Cheltenham Bournside School, Marlwood School, Severn Vale School and Stroud High School ), as well as University of Bristol and GITEP. Our partnership of schools comprises a mixture of large and smaller, single sex and mixed, urban and semi-rural secondary and primary schools. We have one 11-16 and four 11-18 secondary schools. This mixed economy of schools provides a range of experience and expertise, with a focus upon improving leadership, developing the next generation of leaders and ensuring outstanding teaching and learning.

Here at CETA we offer Initial Teacher Training. To become a qualified teacher in state maintained schools across England and Wales you need to have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). This is gained through training known as Initial Teacher Training (ITT).
CETA can support other schools by drawing on skilled and qualified leaders, teachers and school practitioners from our partner schools.
